IMPACT 8/30/12: ODB finally gets her fried chicken and beer

31 Aug

In the shortest match of the year, ODB makes her long awaited return to face Madison Rayne. So how did this match come about you may ask. First Madison Rayne comes out to tell Brooke Hogan that she wants her rematch, she calls out Miss Tessmacher but instead 1/2 of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions, ODB comes out and says Hogan told her that she is having a match. This leads to them having a match-up.

Not even lasting very long – not even a minute surprisingly – with ODB picks up the victory. At the beginning of the match Rayne starts to yell at ODB which makes ODB spit her drink into Madison’s face, gets some clotheslines in and hits a drop to pick up the win. While the ODB is celebrating some music we haven’t heard in a while hits, and out comes her husband E.Y. WITH the beer and friend chicken, that his wife has been asking for in the last few weeks. Eric Young gives a few cheap plugs about his new show, blah blah. ODB asks him where her husband went, which leads him to stripping off his suit and revealing a speedo with the USA flag on it. ODB jumps into her lovers arms and lays a big ‘ol kiss on him.

ODB and Eric Young become longest reigning Knockout Tag Champions

16 Aug

ODB and Eric Young have now become the longest reigning Knockouts tag team champions with 168 days. Young and “his wife” ODB haven’t appeared in a match on IMPACT since April due to him filming shows.

The two won the titles from Madison Rayne and Gail Kim on March 8th during IMPACT Wrestling.

IMPACT 6/21/12: So you want to be a Knockout?

30 Jun

This is the first IMPACT in which a female gutcheck contestant is fighting for a chance to become a new Knockout. Taeler Hendrix, an OVW Champion, has a video package first where some of her matches were shown. She brings up that she was diagnosed with cancer at 21 and had to overcome that massive obstacle to make it where she is now. Hendrix says she’s not going to stop until she’s held every female championship in TNA.

Taeler is shown warming up backstage, (by practicing one of her moves from her match, yikes!). She is facing a major opponent, one of the best female wrestlers today, Tara. She has a lot to prove in this match.

At the beginning of the match, Hendrix tries to shake Taras hand, but she refuses by pushing it away. Tara slams her to the ground, pulls on her hair and yells “You want to be a Knockout!?” Taeler uses this to her advantage and goes for a small package. Tara grabs her by the hair again and throws her into the corner, getting onto the top rope, she retaliates by kicking Tara in the head and taking advantage of the match. The match turns into back in forth action with clotheslines, neckbreakers, and so-on. Tara ends up getting the victory by hitting the Widows Peak and raises Taeler Hendrix’s hand in respect to end their match segment.

Throughout the night, Brooke Hogan has been eliminating Knockouts (Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky, ODB and Mickie James) to see who she wants to face Miss Tessmacher later that night for the championship despite it being advertised as a 4 way match.

Brooke Hogan asks all the Knockouts why they want to be champion. ODB says she’s different from all the Knockouts, Rayne says that she deserves it because she was champion for a very long time, Velvet Sky says she never got her rematch, and Mickie James says she’s the best female wrestler alive today, and she deserves it more than anybody. (cough cough lies). Hogan eliminates Madison Rayne because ‘she isn’t focused enough to win the belt’.

Later on Hogan eliminates yet another Knockout, this one is a shocker… not. Brooke says that she wants the girls to focus more so the division can be brought back to glory, and that’s why ODB is eliminated, and the last segment was after Miss Tessmacher made her entrance. Brooke decides to let Mickie wrestle for the title since Velvet had a music video. SHOCKER…

Mickie James vs. Miss Tessmacher ended when Tessmacher hits a hip toss, James with a counter and goes for the pin, but Tessmacher makes it to the ropes. She counters Mickie’s finisher with a roll-up for the win. Mickie James is shown in the ring being frustrated.

iMPACT 4.26.12: Tessmacher gets noticed, Couple fails to get title shot, and the Latinas make a ringside appearance

27 Apr

Brooke Tessmacher comes down the entrance ramp wearing an angry face. She gets on the microphone talking about everybody bragging on Twitter about her pinning Gail last week, while others are calling it a ‘fluke’. Brooke calls out the Knockouts Champion out to the ring, while rest of the Knockouts mock her backstage.

Gail enters, and the match gets underway. Gail gets the early advantage until toward the end of the match where Brooke is able to hit her finisher on Kim to pick up her second victory on the champion.

Also multiple times backstage, ODB was her tag team partner and husband, Eric Young, along with the other tag teams looking for an opportunity at Samoa Joe and Magnus’ championships. Hulk Hogan goes through reasons why he thinks each team should get an opportunity at the titles and then eliminates MCMG from the group.

In the next backstage segment, the reamining teams, ODB/Young, Anderson/Hardy, and Kazarian/Daniels are shown talking to Hulk Hogan yet again. This time he eliminates Eric Young and ODB and tells them to go back to their hotel room. Hogan tells the remaining teams to meet him in the ring because that’s where he’ll announce who’s going to be wrestling the champions tonight.

Rosita and Sarita also made a surprising appearance when they, along with Hernandez, went to ringside with Anarquia when he wrestled Kurt Angle during Open Fight Night, which basically the whole show was based off of. Unfortunately, Anarquia was unable to pick up the victory, and on top of that, fired from the company only a few days after losing. Looks as if Mexican American might not be no more.

IMPACT Lock Down: Newly Weds Defend Championships; Gail sucessfully retains

18 Apr

Is Gail Kim unstoppable, or can the Knockouts division not be compared to her? Ever since re-debuting back in IMPACT, Gail has defended her title against multiple people and has successfully kept the championship. This time, not even a steel cage will stop her from keeping her treasured prize. From missle drop kicks to top rope powerbombs, this match was everything BUT expected. Many fans have doubted Velvet Sky since her debut and furthermore but this match definately proved that she can hang out with the “top dogs” here at IMPACT.

Gail’s other half, Madison Rayne, came to ringside with the champion even though she was unable to interfere. Madison found a possible way to distract the former Knockouts Champion, Velvet Sky, by screaming in her usual high-pitched voice that drives the audience insane.

This match ends with Madison distracting Velvet while Gail tries to be sneaky and climb out of the cage; Sky sees Gail, throws her off and does a roll-up which is overturned by Gail Kim, with a handful of tights, for the victory. Winner, and still champion, Gail Kim.

We also got another Knockouts match, well in a way, Eric Young is also included though (I can’t even stress how much I dislike this). The Newly weds, ODB and Eric Young defend their championships against the Spicy duo of Rosita and Sarita. The match goes back and forth with everyone being included and getting equal offence. Sarita and Rosita attack ODB and get a chance to show of some salsa moves to ODB’s man, Eric. But when ODB see’s this happening she goes crazy and starts attacking the two.

ODB goes on the offense, spearing Sarita and hitting her finisher on Rosita to pick up the win and keep the knockouts tag team championships for her and her husband. The two celebrate in the steel cage by making out and rolling on one another while Rosita and Sarita throw a tantrum outside the ring.
