RAW 9/3/12: Eve continues to shove herself into the title picture

7 Sep

WWE is actually pushing a Diva feud… but at this point it’s somewhat confusing. What are they doing with Eve and Natalya? This week in action, The assistant Eve will be taking on the pretty face Kaitlyn. The Divas Champion Layla is also making an appearance with an “LOL” dress. “LOL” means ‘Lots of Layla’ thanks to her fans of course, who wrote her on Twitter suggestion the definition. Oh, and Miz is also on commentary due to Lawler being attacked before the show…

Somewhat sloppy but still enjoyable match. Eve as a heel is so much better than a face. It feels like she just belongs in the ring, trash-talking and throwing down her opponents. Layla and Miz arguing back and forth on commentary was somewhat distracting but he put some of the Divas over so I’m not complaining. Eve actually picks up the victory over the #1 contender this time and not with a roll-up! WHOOO! Eve raises Kaitlyn’s hand after the match with a huge pearly-white smile on her face as Kaitlyn is in confusion. Eve then walks right over to Layla and hands her hand out to the champion for a shake. Layla is hesitant but Miz is shouting from commentary at her to shake her hand. Layla shakes her hand and the segment is pretty much over with.

AJ made several appearances throughout the show but the only one that counts is her mental breakdown following Vickie Guerrero confronting her. It seems as if the GM has gone a little loco herself… maybe she should be seeking the anger managment classes, irony right?! Vickie calls out AJ and slaps her. This makes AJ bring out her inner physcho by grabbing a chair and slamming it to the ground while Guerrero is out of the ring. If i was Vickie, I wouldn’t mess with that little ball of fire. She might have something up her sleeve for next week. I guess this will leave us all on the edge of our seats.

Smackdown 8/31/12: Kaitlyn rolls her way to victory

3 Sep

With all these matches involving Natalya this week, It makes me wonder if the Night of Champions match will turn into a four way? No… it’s just me? Okay.

Well, Kaitlyn, the #1 contender, is set to take on the world’s favorite Hart-Breaker Natalya. Pretty decent match in my opinion. Both Divas always have A+ matches with eachother. Eve on commentary also made this match a plus as she puts the Divas over, telling the other commentators that the Divas need to basically have a push, as we all agree. *nods head* Heel Natalya is always the greatest from the trash-talking to the sitting pin, she has it all.

Kaitlyn picks up the victory this week over Natalya with a surprise rollup. Eve, this time, doesn’t lead us to any suspicious thoughts about her possible being involved in the championship match at this upcoming PPV BUT I’m pretty sure her thoughts are on the same line as Natalya’s… which is somewhat like this: “Kaitlyn’s victory was a fluke”. Although, Kaitlyn keeps proving to both the heel Divas that she indeed deserves the spotlight and she is definately underrated, the other girls won’t believe her as long as their still in the picture.

RAW 8/27/12: Layla lays the bombshell on Natalya

31 Aug

Natalya finally makes her way back to our screens and we are excited! She will be taking on the Divas Champion, Layla. Of course with WWE being as sexist as they are, sends Vickie Guerrero out so tell the crowd that she has an announcement, and to make the match quick. She stands on the apron while the match happens.

The champion is all about having fun in the ring with her “outstanding” dance moves, and even butts Natalya out of the ring. Natalya then takes advantage when Layla tries to slide out of the ring to get Natalya and lands herself inside the ring apron. To end of the some-what good match, (but every match Natalya is in we should cherish) Nattie goes for the sharpshooter but Layla blocks. Natalya then continues to beat down the champion until Layla uses her new finishing kick, ‘bombshell’ to pick up the victory.

Vickie Guerrero gets into the ring now while Layla is celebrating her victory of the dungeon Diva and basically tells her to get out. Lay slowly gets out of the ring while staring Vickie down. Guerrero gets on the mic to yell about the stipulation of the match that GM AJ Lee put Dolph Ziggler in last week. This leads the GM to come out, and pounce on the cougar to start a short-lived catfight.

Smackdown 8/24/12: A friendly staredown ends in confusion

29 Aug

The feud between Kaitlyn and Layla seems to be adding on a little as Kaitlyn takes commentary for Layla’s match against Alicia Fox. To my surprise, I feel like Fox did the better job in this match and this was probably one of her best matches to date. Layla to me has been slacking over the last two or three weeks by becoming sloppy. Pretty much Layla’s only offense was kicks which weren’t great. Alicia Fox seemed to add to her moveset a little with a one-legged boston crab onto Layla, which hasn’t been applied from Divas in a long time, so that was nice to see. Fox also did her typical moveset of dropkicks and rollups. Plus on a non-wrestling related note, Fox’s hair looks so much better that way, and same with her ring gear, definately needs to stay. Putting Kaitlyn on commentary for this match was a nice touch from WWE because it can still further their storyline in some way without pushing it to far and getting fans uninterested. After Layla picks up the victory, the #1 contender steps foot into the ring, they have a short staredown before hugging. Eve Torres’ music then hits as she makes her way down the ramp. Eve suspiciously holds both of the ladies hands up in the middle of the ring, leaving them bewildered. What could Eve be up to? Would you like Eve to be added in the match for the championship? Comment below and tell me your thoughts!

Miss Assistant Eve Torres was also in a backstage segment with the General Manager Booker T and Teddy Long. Long gives Booker an idea which he likes until Eve tells him to check the win/loss records to decided who will wrestle for the championship. Booker T likes her idea now and disregarded what Teddy Long said.

Also on Smackdown, Rosa Mendes’ return to managing her tag team of Epico and Primo. After weeks of being absent, Mendes is finally back to her duties at ringside (she returned on Raw in the battle royal). Mendes comes out and does her typical salsa routine that the fans missed so much. Unfortunately, Rosa’s team was unable to pick up the victory against the Tag Team Champions, R-Truth and Kofi Kingston but they were able to get some revenge backstage later in the show with a tag team brawl backstage. This is what I like to see… MORE TAG TEAMS!!

And last but not least, Aksana is also on this week. She makes her way out infront of the audience with the new U.S. Champion, Antonio Cesaro. Former champion, Santino Marella (and his cobra) and Cesaro get into a brawl while Aksana stands on the stage clapping for her man who is winning the battle. It looks as if Aksana is going to be put into a storyline with Santino’s cobra, as well as a fulltime storyline as the champions girlfriend. One of these storylines are normal, and the other one is…well…. interesting, to say the least.

Summerslam 2012

22 Aug

Before this highly anticipated PPV gets started, WWE kicked off with a hot championship match which got everyone on their feet. Hardly do we ssee the title switch hands on the pre-show but this match seemed different. Antonio Cesaro was able to defeated Santino with help from a distraction which was made by his girlfriend Aksana, to become the new United States Champion. After the match, Cesaro and Aksana touted about their victory and shared a long kiss to seal their happiness and new milestone.

The hottest PPV of them all has been hyped for weeks now, and it’s officially time to get the party started! Now Divas match was sadly advertised, and we weren’t treated to a last minute match… BUT we were lucky enough to see all the Divas… well except one, dance. Yup.

Like usual, the Divas are used for eye candy when celebrities perform, etc. on their shows. This one was no different as Kevin Rudolf sings Summerslam’s official theme song live for the crowd to get up and get loose. Funny enough, Rudolf doesn’t even have his guitar plugged in but he is still trying to get down… weirdness. The Divas enter the arena… but it looks as if one is missing, and that is Beth Phoenix.

Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes, The Divas Champion Layla, The Funkadactyls, Kelly Kelly, Eve, Aksana, Natalya, Kaitlyn and Tamina all stand in a perfect line to get down and lip sync to the artists’ song. Why wasn’t Beth able to join this exciting adventure? Was she not dancing material?… or a better question: Was she even invited?…Well, Natalya, Kaitlyn, and Tamina try their best to break out some dance moves, while Eve, Layla and Funkadatyls are naturals at groovin’. Mendes is far to the left doing her normal salsa routine while adding some hand gestures, and Miss Foxy was hardly shown. WWE’s camera pans around to multiple people in the crowd that are letting their inner dancer fly out, which only made this segment better.

Also, Eve Torres was shown backstage with Teddy Long for a few split seconds before the camera moved over to CM Punk who walked into the RAW General Manager AJ Lee’s office. AJ also made an appearance when the triple threat match between John Cena, CM Punk and Big Show ended with both Cena and Punk picking up the win. She immediately restarted the match in hopes of her former lover Punk losing his belt. She didn’t find any luck as the champion remained victorious.

RAW 8/13/12: Diva’s tag team action featuring the Divas Champion!

16 Aug

Kaitlyn and JTG are shown talking backstage. JTG is complaining how there is a three hour raw, THREE hours and he can’t even get a match. The RAW GM AJ Lee then appears and asks him if he has a problem with her. She tells him to go to the ring because she’s going to find him an opponent. AJ asks her former chickbuster partner is she finds her unstable. Kaitlyn replies that she can find many words to describe her and unstable isn’t one. AJ is happy until she thinks it over and now is confused at the remark. I loved how the chickbusters were used in a short segment together. It bothers me that they got rid of them together when they were really over with the fans and worked really well together, but this segment made me happy since I was a huge fan of them together, as well as JTG finally getting a match!

Also on RAW we are treated to a Divas match. Finally the Divas are getting some time, and it’s exciting! The Divas Champion Layla will be teaming up with Kaitlyn to take on Beth Phoenix (yes, they finally found her.) and Eve Torres. This match is most likely to further the storyline between Eve and Kaitlyn for the assistant spot but nonetheless i’m satisfied as their all pretty solid workers. The match definately wasn’t the best with most botches coming from the champion herself. It was a little sloppy but I still enjoyed it because lets face the facts: 1)There’s rarely any Divas matches 2) The champion is finally on and 3) It was longer than most usual matches that the women get. The match could’ve ended on a better note but Kaitlyn won with  roll-up on Beth Phoenix… in case you didn’t realize this already but I hate roll-ups… especially since the Divas do them to often.

Also happening before the Divas match was yet another segment between CM Punk and Eve. Not sure if these random segments are leading to a possible storyline or they just think that they work well together… which is probably true. Eve walks up while CM Punk is stretching. Eve congratulates him on the new CM Punk. He responds by saying that he’s never changed and Eve disagrees. And to end off all of this Diva excitement, AJ, Layla and Kaitlyn were all shown backstage with a few other NXT Roster Members looking at the damage that Brock Lesnar caused on the car following his attack on HBK in the parking lot.

Also on top of this perfect night, All 4 ladies featured in the match were able to trend Worldwide on Twitter INCLUDING the trend “Divas”. Yes, WWE we do still care. now keep giving us Diva matches that are long and enjoyable. Thanks.
