IMPACT 8/9/12: We find Tessmacher, Rayne makes a “statement”

11 Aug

We FINALLY found the Knockouts Champion, Tessmacher… Sure she made an appearance last week but she wasn’t actually in action. This week she will be facing Gail Kim… so much for giving the match at the PPV some build up IMPACT. Pretty good match compared to the other matches these two have had together in the past. Tess is improving so much and so fast. At the beginning of the match, Gail Kim tries to attack Miss Tessmacher from behind but she saw it coming so it didn’t happen. This leads to some out of the ring action, which we only see in IMPACT with the females… this is what I love!

The Knockouts champion does¬†a some-what bulldog to pick up the victory. Oh, by the way Earl Hebner is the referee for this match, you might want to know that for the upcoming segment. Well… Miss Killer Queen, Madison Rayne makes her way down the ramp and lays a big ol’ kiss on Hebner as Tessmacher looks on is disgust, as do we all watching at home, I couldn’t even imagine being that close. YUCK! Madison smiles and leaves the ring signaling that she is going to be the next champion. Oh, and I’m pretty sure that the commentators stated that Earl Hebner is also going to be the referee this Sunday for the PPV… Oh great. Goodbye Tess title reign, we’ll miss you.

Oh and thanks to Lee South, the photographer for IMPACT for finally giving us tons of Knockout digitals unlike usual.

IMPACT 8/2/12: Contender named for championship following controversy

5 Aug

Finally a Knockouts match that can determine a match that can involve the champion! Miss Tessmacher comes out for commentary. As announced in the preview the match is Tara vs Mickie James vs Madison Rayne vs Gail Kim. In case you’re wondering, yes Earl Hebner is sadly the referee (I was rooting for Tara too ūüėČ ) Well, all of the Knockouts get pretty much the same amount of time and the Knockouts go all out when Gail Kim suplexes Tara off the top rope, we won’t see that in “the other company”. Tara rolls Madison Rayne for the pin, and gets the three count although Hebner declares Rayne as the winner. After many replays, it is clear the Madison’s shoulders were BOTH down, but that doesn’t change the decision. Madison celebrates with the referee as Tara is upset in the ring, as we all would. Tessmacher, the Knockouts Champion, also was excited that Tara was winning, as she said many times during commentary that she would love to face her… dreams shattered. Either way, Tess will be ready to defend her gold.

Also during IMPACT, we were blessed with a backstage segment featuring the women of the match (before the match happend). Madison Rayne is backstage with Earl Hebner, who is holding a handful of gifts. Madison says she doesn’t want gifts, she wants his affection and that’s why she kissed him, although she takes the gifts anyway… okay. Thank goodness this segment is interrupted by Rayne’s bestie, Gail Kim! Gail is wondering what is going on. Rayne tells Kim that Earl is going to call the #1 contender match¬†“right down the middle” because he’s a “professional”… like we actually believe that one bit. Tara and Mickie James are shown warming up for their match afterwards.

Madison Rayne is now #1 contender following controversy from Earl Hebner… but honestly at this upcoming PPV I really hope that the ending doesn’t turn out how it has been the last two weeks. It was fine the first week but now it’s getting annoying. The match for the title should be fair in my opinion but knowing TNA some odd pointless twist will happen.

IMPACT 7/26/12: Champion still missing but Knockouts tag match takes place

28 Jul

Has anybody seen the Knockouts Champion? She has been “missing” from IMPACT for about three weeks now. Looks as if TNA is taking the WWE¬†approach at this moment… except their actually using their women’s wrestlers.

This week IMPACT graced us with a Knockouts tag team match where Tara decided to ditch Tess to team up with Miss¬†“hardcore country” Mickie James as they took on Madison Rayne and Gail Kim. The match looks like it’s in Rayne and Kim’s favor at they very beginning as Earl Hebner,

Madison’s crush is the referee. Rayne and Gail take turns beating up Mickie James until she was able to make the tag. Tara and Mickie double team, Earl is not treating the Faces equally in this match, not a surprise though. The face team starts to double team on Madison and when Gail Kim tries to make the save, they put the submission on her. In a very confusing yet unique ending, Mickie rolls up the killer queen but Earl reverses the decision leading Madison Rayne and Gail Kim to pick up the victory.

My Opinion:¬†¬†Whenever Gail Kim and Tara are in the ring together, I can easily say I’m entertained. These two work together like they have so much chemistry and they can work with anybody and make them look good. Still not a fan of Mickie but I must say she did pretty well in this match, probably because she didn’t actually try to hit her finisher. The thing I like with Knockout’s tag matches is that ALL the women get time and it’s pretty lengthy. I personally really liked the ending of this bout. It was confusing at first but I definately find it unique and it’s something that hasn’t been tried before so I’m a fan. Even though I enjoyed this match, I’m still wanting a build-up for Tessmacher’s championship, and I want to see her actually on so hopefully this leads to something next week. P.S. Note to Lee South, can other Knockouts OTHER THAN Mickie get an entrance digital. K thanx.

IMPACT 7/5/12: Madison’s secret crush is revealed

7 Jul

Here’s a little filler in about what was going to happen and what actually happend before going onto what the Knockouts did: TNA had breaking news posted on their website early Thursday stating that “Gail Kim lodged a protest through her lawyer and upon further review of the contract, a clause was found preventing the title match from happening tonight!¬† Gail‚Äôs lawyer had a clause hidden in the contract that required the former champion 8 days notice of her rematch.” The Knockouts match was then rescheduled for next week and instead we had a filler match with Gail Kim and Madison Rayne taking on Tara and Miss Tessmacher.

The first Knockout shown on Impact was none other than, Madison Rayne. TNA tweeted a few minutes before saying that Madison told them her secret crush was in the ring. The match that was happening at that time was Devon vs Crimson. After Devon won to retain his championship, Rayne makes her way down the ramp. She pauses for a small second inside the ring, and pushes Devon out of the way. She walks over to the referee, Earl Hebner and lays a big kiss on him before smiling and leaving him in shock.

Tara and Miss Tessmacher were shown backstage just before their match. Tessmacher is talking about how she’ll beat Gail Kim next week just like she would have if they were facing tonight, but instead, she’ll now get to team with her Best Friend Tara. Tara then says that Brooke makes her and everyone else who ever held that title proud.

Up next is the Knockout match between two sets of BFF’s TnT and Gail Kim and Madison Rayne. Before the bell, Madison attacks Brooke and throws her to the ground and hits her head on the railing. Madison covers Tess and gets a 2 count before tagging in her partner Gail. She hits Tessmacher with a series of kicks and forearms before hitting a clothesline and a knee to the midsection. Tessmacher gains momentum and begins to punch Gail, but Gail hits her with an elbow. Kim goes for a crossbody but Tessmacher moves out of the way and tags her partner Tara in and Gail tags in Madison. Tara clotheslines Rayne and does some suplexes before going for the Widows Peak. Gail comes in but Tara kicks her in the face and throws Madison into her. Tara then hits the Widows Peak this time and tags in Tessmacher, who hit her finisher to pick up the victory.

IMPACT 6/28/12: Tessmacher, Gail and Taeler receive ‘gifts’

30 Jun

This episode I dubbed as the “receiving” episode, as throughout the night, Three Knockouts were given great news! Even though us Knockout fans were¬†not gifted with a match, we did receive¬†two backstage segment, in which one ensured that there will be a Knockout match for next week.

Throughout the show, Taz, Al Snow and Bruce Prichard were shown backstage discussing their thoughts on last weeks Gut Check, Taelar Hendrix. Finally the moment came when their standing in the ring and Hendrix made her way down the ramp and stood infront of the people who will be deciding her future. She had the Impact Zone behind her, with them chanting Yes constantly to help them make a decision. Taz voted yes. Al Snow goes to make his decision when Joey Ryan, another GutCheck contestant, showed up in the audience. He was escorted by security and the judges are back to giving their evaluations. Al Snow says he knows Taeler has potential, but he doesn’t think she’s ready for a roster spot. He votes no. Taeler is giving the microphone to plead her case as to why she should get a contract with Impact. She says she will fight to stay here¬†and earn a roster spot and that she wants it and she will prove that she can shine. Prichard says he’s not sure if she’s tough enough, she’s not experienced, and shes green but he voted yes. Taelar Hendrix is now a Knockout.

In the first backstage segment, Madison Rayne is shown with Garrett Bischoff. Garrett tries to ignore her by texting on his phone, Madison then tries to talk about her secret crush¬† before asking what “he’s” like. She whispered it in his ear, as Bischoff walks away and tells her “good luck with that.”

In a second backstage segment, Brooke Hogan gives Miss Tessmacher a Direct Auto Insurance ad. Gail Kim walks over and says that the ad is fitting because of cheap rates and cheap girls. Tessmacher yells at her before Gail talks about how she wants her rematch which allows Tessmacher to yell at her yet again. Brooke told Gail that her re-match is going to be next week.

My Two-Cents: I personally don’t know why you would hire a ‘green’ person to be on your roster, especially knowing how much Impact loves their Knockouts division. I personally wouldn’t have signed her because she isn’t that good and she needs a lot more experience. Plus, TNA doesn’t even know how to use some of the Knockouts that they have now. In other news, I really want Madison to just reveal who her secret crush is. This has potential to be a good storyline but if it turns out to be Earl Hebner than we have another storyline gone bad (i.e. AJ Styles/Claire/Dixie Carter) and as for the Gail Kim/Tessmacher match, I hope Tessmacher retains and¬†goes onto wrestle one of the heel Knockouts that they refuse to put on TV (Winter, Rosita or Sarita).

IMPACT 6/14/12: Madison fails to ‘Rayne’ on Tessmachers Reign

15 Jun

Madison Rayne¬†is the first to wrestle Miss Tessmacher, fresh off her title win on Sunday. Madison had an interview with Jeremy Borash backstage talking about how she doesn’t care if she wins, she just want to look good. She continues to look at herself in the camera lense and fix her hair. Borash also brings up that she is competing in her first fitness competition and¬†Rayne is looking “buff”.¬†Will the Killer Queen be able to defeated the new Knockouts Champion especially with her new¬†set of “guns”?

The match starts with Tessmacher hitting a headlock takedown followed by a dropkick. Rayne puts Tess in the corner and slams her down. Madison begins to mock Tessmacher in the corner and runs into her. Rayne then throws Tessmacher into the ropes followed by a back drop, The Knockouts Champ blocks and gives Rayne a modified neckbreaker. Miss Tessmacher hits her finisher on Madison Rayne to get the win.

We also see see former Knockouts Champion Gail Kim¬†backstage with the head of the Knockouts Division, Brooke Hogan. Hogan tells Gail Kim that it’s open fight night next week and she has a match scheduled. Gail Kim tells Hogan that she deserves her rematch and she should be the only one in that match. Brooke tells Gail that she is taking her out of the match next week and in her contract it says that SHE gets to choose when Gail gets her rematch.

SLAMMIVERSARY: Texas turns into a good luck charm for Tessmacher

12 Jun

Miss Tessmacher has gotten some wins over the longest reigning Knockouts Champion, Gail Kim, on IMPACT but failed to get the title during her first PPV bout with Kim. Tessmacher then won a #1 contender spot, on IMPACT last week against Tara, Mickie James and Velvet Sky, to face Gail Kim for the title at Slammiversary. This PPV wasn’t going to be like every other PPV, this one was special because it was in Miss Tessmacher’s home state, Texas.

Texas turned into a good luck charm for the hometown girl as she rolls up her nemisis, Gail Kim, to become the NEW knockouts champion! Brooke gives an emotional interview at the end of her victory talking about how she has overcome obstacles and stereotypes about being a model in a wrestling business.

Congrats to Miss Tessmacher on her first championship reign with IMPACT Wrestling!
